This blog is dedicated to all of those who have been wanting to make some real changes in thier lives and don't know where or how to start. I to need to make some changes and what better time to begin. I have decided to embark on a journey of altering my physical and academic level. As I shared my decision to make some changes in my life with others, I realized that so many people are not living thier lives to the fullest potential. So many are unhappy with their current state of health and so many want to go back to school but lack the motivation to do so. I have realized that many women spend their life making others happy and forget about themselves. No more! my decision has been made. As I shared my thoughts with a few, I was told things like, "keep me posted". I was even told, "Let me know how it goes and maybe I can do it to". I accepted the invitation to share my journey with others without reservation because I know once you openly make a vow, someone somewhere is going to hold you accountable. It is that accountability that keeps us on the path when we want to give up. Knowing that someone is going to look for you to keep your word is like having someone walking with you at all times asking loudly in your ear "Are you there yet?" It is also a gentle reminder that our choices are not only about us, but they are about those in our cirle of influence (family, friends, trusted others). So what is this journey about? What is this big decision that I have made? I am glad you asked. I am going back to school to earn my Masters Degree on Line at Grand Canyon University AND I am going to loose pounds and pounds (I have not come up with a number yet) of unwanted and un-needed FAT! In other words, it is time to "Do Me". Although I work full time as a High School Guidance Counselor and History Instructor, I am going to find no not find, I am going to take time out for me!
I have joined the local YMCA and I have promised myself that I will workout no less than three times per week and I am going to modify my diet so that I can loose the weight and get my life back (more about that later)
Will I do it? Can I last? How many times will I fall off the wagon? How many times will I get back on the wagon? How many of you will encourage me? How many of you will be inspired by my story to do WHATEVER it is you have been wanting to do but lack the motivation? How many of you will join me in an on-line victory celebration when I reach my goal? The journey begins now. Please feel free to visit my Blog, leave me messages, and offer your suggestions. I need some really good ideas for meals and some workout tips.
